» Genomics in Tree Breeding and Forest Ecosystem Management

CTGN team members are pleased to present a suite of online learning modules under the auspices of the Plant Breeding and Genomics Community of Practice with eXtension.

There are 16 modules grouped under three themes: introductory genetics and genomics (foundation) modules; genetic dissection of complex traits modules; and marker informed breeding and other marker applications modules. They are designed to serve as teaching aids for University instructors or as stand-alone lessons for students, practitioners, or curious laypeople. Each module is a large format Flash video with a table of contents, the ability to search the text of the slides, and complete closed captioning. Spoken commentaries accompany the slides and provide an in-depth look at the issues relating to the slide text. A pdf version of each module is also available for download.

The modules were composed by CTGN personnel and were subject to external peer review. The eXtension presentation of these modules has been managed, in large part, by members of the USDA-sponsored Solanaceae Coordinated Agricultural Project (SolCAP). All figures, photos, and tables within the modules may be used as instructional materials for personal use and in classrooms without restrictions.
