Summary of the EGFHN

An ecosystem genomic approach will integrate ecological and genome-based studies to assess forest ecosystems and the interactions of organisms to their biotic and abiotic environment, to better understand patterns and processes at multiple spatial and temporal scales.

Determine a baseline of adaptive genetic diversity of forest tree species and associated interacting organisms to improve our understanding on how these species will respond and adapt to environmental changes.

EGFHN will serve as a formal mechanism to connect and coordinate research, databases, resources, monitoring, conservation, and management with multiple stakeholders to support decision-making that addresses forest ecosystem health and resilience.
